Last chance to nominate for the 2019 NW Business Awards!
Businesses throughout the Derry~Londonderry and Strabane council area and their users are being invited to nominate their winners of 2019 ahead of the annual North West Business Awards.
Organisers, City Centre Initiative (CCI) and the main sponsor of this year’s awards, Derry City and Strabane District Council, are aiming to recognise and celebrate local businesses and entrepreneurs who have accomplished over the year.
Together with the award sponsors they are appealing for members of the public and businesses to put forward their nominations before 1st May 2019.
Louise Breslin, Business Programme Manager at Derry City and Strabane District Council spoke of the opportunities for local businesses, she said; “The NW Business Awards is a platform for all business throughout the city and region. The prestige associated with these types of awards is invaluable for business owners, their staff and the general public, as it inspires buyer confidence and raises the profile of the award recipients.
“We have so much to offer as business destination with a high calibre of services, facilities, staff and hardworking people. There will always be challenges for business and as we move forward through Brexit it is important that we have confidence in what we do and celebrate who we have in the NW, which is why will continue to have these awards and encourage everyone to take part.”
Jim Roddy, Chief Executive of City Centre Initiative said the gala awards night is recognised as one of the North West’s most distinguished events, celebrating businesses throughout the council region and is a unique opportunity for businesses to raise their profile and engage with key influencers.
He added; “These awards are about praising the great work that has been done over the year by our businesses and entrepreneurs, especially those who have taken that step beyond in innovation or best practice and contributed to the growth of the economy within the North West.
“Our nomination process is now open until 12 noon on 1st May 2019 and we invite anyone who would like to nominate a business or entrepreneur based in the Derry~Londonderry or Strabane council areas, to so before then. The process is very simple and can be completed online via the City Centre Initiative (CCI) website or by contacting CCI. We have quite a number of NEW categories this year, thanks to our sponsors including; NW Restaurant of the Year, NW Award for Environmental Excellence in Business, Contribution to the NW Economy Award, NW Hotel of the Year, Young business person of the Year, NW Creative Industries Business of the Year, NW Excellence in Innovation, Best use of Marketing, Digital and/or Social Media, NW Retailer of the Year Award, Excellence in Leadership Award, Best NW Small Business, Best NW Large Business, Overall NW Entrepreneur/Business of Year, Visit Derry Ambassador’s Award, NW Business Hero and NW Pub of the Year.
