This week marks a momentous occasion at City of Derry Airport as the airport team and Scottish airline, Loganair, celebrated 40 years since the inaugural commercial flight from City of Derry Airport to Glasgow back in 1979.
City of Derry Airport Sponsor NI Judo Open Championship
City of Derry Airport is proud to be sponsoring the eagerly anticipated NI Judo Open Championship being held by the Northern Ireland (NI) Judo Federation at Foyle Arena in Derry/Londonderry on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th April. Loganair Host Flights for School’s Cluster Programme
City of Derry Airport and Scottish airline, Loganair, teamed up to provide an educational aviation experience for the local school children taking part in the Extended School’s Cluster Project, an initiative developed by Northern Ireland’s Department of Education. The scheme aims to improve levels of educational achievement for children and young people by providing the additional support they may require to help them reach their full potential.

The 2019 North West Business Awards celebrating the very best in business throughout the Derry and Strabane Council areas are now officially open. Organised by City Centre Initiative (CCI) and sponsored by Derry City and Strabane District Council, the 2019 awards are set to take place on Friday 7th June at the Best Western White Hotel and are now officially open for nominations.
Loganair’s NEW London Stansted Service Takes Flight!
Today, 27th February 2019, Loganair’s new service between City of Derry Airport, (CoDA), and London Stansted commenced operations. The route runs twice daily on a 49-seater jet aircraft with an early morning departure each day that is particularly suited to business travellers and commuters from the North West region.

Following on from the positive news that Derry City and Strabane District Council has agreed to appoint Loganair to operate the London Stansted route from City of Derry Airport, Loganair has confirmed it will operate a new daily air service to Manchester.

Derry City and Strabane District Council has confirmed it has agreed to appoint Loganair to operate the London Stansted route from City of Derry Airport. Welcoming the announcement, the Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council Cllr John Boyle praised the efforts of officers from Council, the City of Derry Airport and the Department for Transport for their work and commitment throughout the week to secure a replacement airline.
